Holiday Giving Guide: Like a Snowflake

No two snowflakes are exactly alike — and neither are your students. Each one walks into your classroom with a completely unique set of talents, and this activity helps them see those talents not just as personal traits but as tools for making the world better. From skateboarding to playing an instrument, drawing to gaming, every talent has the potential to become an act of giving when it's offered to someone who needs it.

Using the snowflake image as a guide, students write down three of their own talents and then think through one specific way each could be used to help someone else. It's a confidence-building, identity-affirming activity that plants a powerful seed: the idea that who you already are is exactly enough to make a difference. Just like a snowflake — there's no one else quite like them, and that's precisely the point.
