Heart for Ukraine

By request, we created a Project Heart Beats around the current events happening in Ukraine. Conflict can bring about thoughts and feelings of anxiety, unease and worry, but when we learn to take action and give back those thoughts and feelings turn positive. Young people can be philanthropists when they use their 3Ts (time, talent and treasure) to make an impact.

When the news is hard to understand, stories help — and when the news is heartbreaking, action helps even more. This Project Heart Beat guides students through the real-life responses of young people who refused to be passive in the face of crisis. From supply drives to fundraising campaigns to handwritten letters of solidarity, they found ways to close the distance between themselves and families fleeing war.

With age-appropriate context and empathy-building activities, this resource helps students process global events without feeling overwhelmed or hopeless. Instead, it asks the essential question: what can I do from right here? The answer, it turns out, is more than most students ever imagined.
